3 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISIONS:

Legend Club Champion   Men Age 65+  ~  Women Age 60+

The Men's and Ladies' Legend Club Champion winner will be determined by the lowest seeding round played between Saturday, July 22, through Saturday, July 29, 2017.  The winner of the Legend Club Championship may also go on to compete in the Senior Club Championship if he/she has one of the 8 (or 16 depending on participation) lowest qualifying scores OR may compete in the Club Championship or one of the flight Divisions. Placement will be determined by his/her handicap and qualifying rounds beginning on Saturday, July 22, 2017.

Senior Club Champion  Men Age 55+  ~  Women Age 50+

Depending on participation the Senior Club Championship may consist of ONLY 8 men and 8 women. You must declare if you are competing in the Senior Club Championship prior to the qualifying round. If there are 16 or more people who sign up for the Senior Club Championship, a 1st Flight will be established. Anyone qualifying for the Senior Club Championship or Senior 1st Flight will play a qualifying round (stroke play) from the middle tees Saturday, July 22, 2017. The 16 lowest scores will be seeded accordingly and will play a MATCH PLAY ROUND with their opponent anytime between Sunday, July 23, and Saturday, July 29, 2017 (if necessary based on participation). This round will determine whether you play in the Senior Club Championship or the Senior 1st Flight AND determine your seeding within the flight. Those whose stroke play qualifying round does not seed them in the Senior or Senior 1st Flight Club Championship may continue to compete in the Club Championship or one of the flight divisions. Placement will be determined by his/her handicap and qualifying round played on Saturday, July 22, 2017 (if necessary). Senior Club Championship play will begin on Sunday, July 30, 2017.

Club Champion   Men and Women Age 18 and over

Anyone, 18 years and older, who wants to compete in the Club Championship Flight may do so by playing a qualifying round (stroke play) FROM THE BACK (BLUE) TEES on Saturday, July 22, 2017. You must declare that you want to compete in this flight BEFORE the qualifying round. The 15 lowest scores plus the 2016 Club Champion, Kevin Bedell (1st seed) will be seeded according to their qualifying round. Anytime from Sunday, July 23, 2017 to Saturday, July 29, 2017 you will play a MATCH PLAY ROUND from the BACK (BLUE) TEES with your assigned opponent. The winners of this match will remain in the Championship Flight and will play their 1st round on Sunday, July 30, 2017. The players that are defeated this week do not continue to compete in the 2017 Club Championship. All those who attempt to qualify for the Championship flight BUT DO NOT HAVE ONE OF THE 15 LOWEST SCORES and want to continue competing will be placed in a Flight according to their handicap and that qualifying score will be used for their seeding round.

~ The QUALIFYING ROUND foursomes and tee times will be based on handicap and assigned by the Pro Shop.
~ Ties for the 15th place in the Championship Qualifier will play a sudden death playoff starting immediately after the final group finishes. All other ties within the top 15 players will be broken by the USGA Match of Cards – last 9, last 6, last 3, 18th hole.
~ Anyone who does not want to compete in the Club Championship Flight and/or the Senior and Senior 1st Flight Club Championship may play their seeding round anytime between Saturday, July 22, 2017 and Saturday, July 29, 2017. You will be placed into Flights based on your handicap and will seed within your Flight based on your score during the dates above.
~ Participants will be required to have an active current GHIN handicap. The most recent GHIN handicap revision on July 19th will be used to determine the Flights.
~ Your seeding round must be played with someone who is or has played his/her seeding round.
~ Your scorecard must be stamped in the Pro Shop prior to the beginning of your round and then signed, dated and attested when returned to the Pro Shop to be considered an official seeding round. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
~ Because there may not be more than eight (8) players within a flight, if your score is not one of the 8 lowest for your flight, you will be seeded in the next flight down based on your seeding round score or receive a bye.
~ The NLGC prior year CLUB CHAMPIONS (Elaine Kuketz-Pierce and Kevin Bedell) will automatically be seeded 1st in the Championship Flight. However, the 2016 Men's and Ladies' Club Champion WILL HAVE TO PLAY THE MATCH PLAY ROUND against their opponent sometime during the above mentioned week (if applicable based on participation).
~ Once you are seeded within a flight and you decide that you cannot compete, the opponent will receive an automatic bye. However, anyone withdrawing without a medical and/or legitimate excuse will not be allowed to compete in the following year's club championship.
~ Order of play will be determined by the number of flights.
~ Due to the large discrepancies in indexes of the women who play at Nippo Lake, the Women's Club Championship Division may consist of fewer ladies in each flight WITH MORE FLIGHTS in hopes of encouraging more participation. All ladies who wish to compete in the Club Championship in flights based on their indexes are urged to sign up.

Please do not sign up to play in the Club Championship if you will not be able to commit to playing in ALL match play rounds.
