Nippo Lake Golf Club and The First Tee of New Hampshire held its 12th Annual Take a Child to the Course on Sunday, June 10th. 83 children, ranging from the ages of 2 years to 17 years participated in the afternoon event. Each child received a personal picture and certificate of participation to commemorate the event along with merchandise donated by Nippo Lake Golf Club, Seacoast Coca Cola, FUNSPOT of Laconia, NLGC Thursday Night Ladies League and Golicks in Barrington. A family barbecue was available to all with food and drinks donated by Hannafords of Northwood, Maple Leaf Meat Products, Rochester Country Club, Sysco Boston and Seacoast Coca-Cola. The children enjoyed mouthwatering “goodies” made by Pat and Maureen Brideau of Barrington and ice cream donated by Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
The nine-hole event featured activities by age group using forward tees. Instructions were available on the driving range and practice putting green. Longest drive for 7 year olds and under went to Christopher Rogers of Pittsfield and Wade Michaud of Barrington won longest putt with a 3 footer. Max Lukeman of Hooksett won the longest drive for the 8-11 age group and longest putt honors went to Davis Michaud of Barrington for his 3 foot putt. James Kahn of Lee won longest drive for the 12-17 age group. Each winner was awarded a gift passes to BarnZ’s Cinema of Barrington and a golf club donated by Callaway.
