“LJ” PARSONS wins 2009 Nippo Lake Junior Golf Membership John “LJ” Parsons of Madbury was presented with a Certificate of Accomplishment for his essay about confidence and persistence at the 9th Annual Take a Child to the Course on Sunday, June 7th at Nippo Lake Golf Club. LJ stated that “golf has taught me that it is necessary to set goals and take the needed steps to achieve them.” He went on to say “Golf requires confidence and persistence as does achieving success in anything. I know from playing golf that if I try enough times, I will eventually find success.” LJ found success in both 2007 and 2008 when he won the Junior Club Championship in the 9-13 Division. LJ will be entering his freshman year at Oyster River High School in the fall. Honorable mention was awarded to Gabriel Drapeau of Rochester. Gabriel was awarded a private lesson with PGA Professional Chris Mowers. 8 area students submitted essays and Nippo Lake’s PGA Professional Chris Mowers determined the winner. |
