On Sunday, June 11th, Nippo Lake Golf Club held their 6th Annual Take a Child to the Course Afternoon. Blake Janelle of Madbury (below), winner of the 2006 Junior Golf Membership, was presented with a Certificate of Accomplishment for his essay on how through perseverance, one can be rewarded both on and off the golf course. Blake spoke about the need for respect for ones opponents “…but first and foremost, a golfer needs respect for the game.” Blake will be a senior at Oyster River High School in the fall. 16 area students submitted essays and Dawn Welsh, Managing Member of AMP Media Group in Glastonbury, CT, chose the winning essay.
